Smt. Thuvaraha Ramanan

Smt. Thuvaraha Ramanan is a renowned Bharatanatyam dancer, choreographer, and the visionary founder of Visvanthara Dance School. With over nine years of teaching experience and more than 100 dedicated students, she continues to cultivate a strong foundation in Bharatanatyam while creating performance opportunities that uplift young artists. Her school proudly marks its second Arangetram, celebrating the artistic growth of her students.

Her Bharatanatyam journey began at the age of eight under Smt. Ketheeswary Sivathas, later advancing her training at the Kalabavanam Dance School. In 2009, she was awarded the prestigious ICCR Scholarship, which led her to pursue advanced studies in India.

Smt. Ramanan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Dance from Annamalai University and a Master of Arts in Bharatanatyam from the University of Madras, where she trained under eminent gurus Dr. Sreelatha Vinod and Dr. Lakshmi Ramaswamy. Under the mentorship of Professor Dr. Raguraman, her master’s thesis explored Sanga Ilakiyam’s ‘Natrinaiyil Bharatanatyam’.

An accomplished performer, she has appeared on international stages including the celebrated Natyanjali Festival in Chidambaram, India, and has shared her artistry across Sri Lanka, India, and Canada. She is also a recognized B-Grade artist by Doordarshan.

In addition to her solo and group choreographies, Smt. Ramanan hosts "Nritya Samarpanam" (salagai poojai), annual school performances and actively encourages her students to showcase their talent at various cultural events around GTA helping them gain valuable stage experience and cultural exposure.
